Memorial Day

Today was the Memorial Day ceremony honoring our nation's veterans at the Pataskala Cemetery and at the Veterans Memorial on Main Street. I took this opportunity to kick off my Eagle Project-the renovation of the Veterans Memorial.
My plan for the memorial includes replacing the base stone underneath the memorial stone. I want to build a stone wall planter box, add five new flag poles, one for each of the military branches, and two new benches. I am working on a program for individuals to purchase engraved paver bricks to honor the veterans. Additionally, business owners and individuals can show their support and be recognized by purchasing "support" pavers that will border the veterans paver area. I will update details on this program when available.
Some people I would like to thank today: EMH&T for working with me on drafting the initial project plans, Mayor Steve Butcher for his continued support and Pataskala Chamber of Commerce for my first monetary donation that I received today.

This is going to be an excellent Eagle project for Zach and a lasting tribute to all those who served Pataskala and honored Licking County by serving our great nation.
In my home of Washington, PA, a historic train station was renovated. A veterans walkway is part of the grounds now. Six members of my family are honored there. It's a beautiful and respectful tribute. I encourage the good people of Pataskala to do all they can to make your memorial worthy of the men and women of the military you will honor.
